Termites lose their wings soon after locating a new colony site. If you discover termite wings on your property, that means an underground nest is probably under construction nearby.

Termites will swarm before establishing a new colony. This is the most common way homeowners identify a brewing termite infestation.

When termites eat wood, they fill it with soil to help maintain the humidity. If mud tunnels are visible on the walls or foundation of your home, it is highly likely that you are experiencing a subterranean termite infestation and are in need of termite treatment.

Questions About Termite Treatment and Protection

How much does termite protection cost?

The Pest + Termite bundle starts at $61/month for qualifying homes. This is a bundled starting price, rather than a standalone TermiteShield quote. Contact our sales team for pricing based on your property and the protection needed.

How long does termite treatment take?

The installation appointment and colony elimination have different timelines. We will confirm how much time to allow for installation after inspecting your property. Our published Sentricon terms explain that bait consumption and colony elimination can involve intervals of a few weeks to several months. Existing termites may continue feeding during that period. Your technician will explain monitoring and any additional treatment recommended for active areas. See our full service agreement terms.

What warranty comes with termite protection?

The Pest + Termite and Total Protection plans list a lifetime renewable termite warranty. Coverage depends on keeping the agreement in good standing and meeting its requirements. Under the published Sentricon terms, bait for new subterranean termite infestations is provided as needed during the plan term. The agreement provides for re-treatment subject to its terms; it does not cover repair of existing or future termite damage. Review the full service agreement terms and your written agreement for the coverage that applies to your home.

Does the termite warranty need to be renewed?

Yes. The published terms state that payment of the annual inspection fee extends the agreement for one additional year. Sentricon maintenance includes an annual visual termite inspection and bait replacement as needed. Ask us to confirm your renewal cost and requirements before enrolling.

Is termite monitoring the same as termite protection?

No. Monitoring helps identify termite activity, but it is not a guarantee that termites will be found and is not the same as termite protection. Ask us whether your quoted plan includes monitoring only or the Sentricon termite protection system.
